Over the last few days, we have been evaluating various aspects of this site, its services and widgets. At this point, your feedback and comments would be appreciated. One of our goals is to improve performance and streamline some of our processes so that we can provide a better and more stable system.

Some items we have already addressed…

• we have scaled back the update interval of our services while we work on the performance issues
• consolidated and optimized some code to take less systems resources
• reviewed logs and evaluated our offerings

Considerations…

With the release of the Stickam Status Chicklets and the updates to the profile pages on Stickam, we are considering the discontinuation of the Where Am I (WAI) image widget. It no longer serves the original purpose as effectively as it once did. While the Status Chicklets does not provide as much information as the Where Am I image, it does provide the user status and looks much better. WAI image usage has been steadily declining due the release of the chicklets and the new Friends features on Stickam.

If there are no objections, the Where Am I image widget will probably go offline by Friday (8/25). A quick glance at our logs seems to suggest that no one has used the images in the last 7 days.
