Colts Providing an Official Widget for Their Fans
Dec 27 2006The Colts have teamed up with Clearspring to provide a widget for the Colts. See below for the widget and grab the code for yourself if you’re a Colts fan. The widget itself is loaded with features; an image slideshow, latest news and video feeds and links back to the official Colts website.
For now you can grab the embed code, email to a friend or auto insert into TypePad. But, it does look like there are plans for auto insert into MySpace and Blogger.
One problem with using this widget on MySpace is the inability to link externally from MySpace. Pat Coyle of Sports Marketing 2.0 blog and Director of Database Marketing & E Commerce for the Indianapolis Colts indicates that they are working on this. Let’s see if they are able to resolve this issue. If they are able to, it could be good news for other widgets providers out there. In the meantime, you can still use this widget in a variety of places and other social networks.

MySpace issues are definitely tricky. That being said, we will have the autoposting up within days. There was a bit of a switch up on API workflow on their end. With respect to linking, we are engaging the folks over there and are hard at work trying to find a resolution that works for us all. So far they have been fantastic, so we are hopeful.

That just leaves the MySpace external link issue. Any updates on that?
