Misc Tidbits

Mar 31 2007

The 2007 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Finals is set. It will be Ohio State and Florida, both #1 seeds in their their regions. Neither Georgetown nor UCLA seemed to put up much resistance to the #1 seeds. Monday should be a good game.

Stickam looks to be down right now. Update: Looks to be back up.

SEO-Space has a nice list of 35 widgets resources. We happen to make the list.

My Stickam Friends Widget

Mar 30 2007

Update: The updated widget has been released and is compatible with both MySpace and Stickam. Check out the main My Stickam Friends Widget page for details.

We have been working on a new My Stickam Friends widget. This widget grabs the list of friends and their status (first 40 friends on your Stickam friends page). An icon is displayed next to each name to indicate their status. Clicking the user’s name will either launch their Stickam video chat (if they are broadcasting live) or you will be taken to the user’s profile page.

Status Icons:

Stickam Status: Live Stickam Live Chat
Stickam Status: Chat Room In a Chat Room
Stickam Status: Online Online
Stickam Status: Offline Offline

A widget page will be created and the widget code will be released shortly. There are still a few minor features we would like to include before the first release.

Currently the widget is not MySpace or Stickam friendly. The widget will embed just fine and pull in the friends list and status. But, due to the allowNetworking setting, you will not be able to launch a chat or navigate to a profile page. We plan on having a solution for this.

Check back over the next few days for updates.

[update (05/28/2008) - widget removed and discontinued due to lack of Stickam API support]

The Final Four 2007

Mar 26 2007

It’s been a great tournament so far and it’s come down to the Final Four. It’s a couple of #2 seeds vs. #1 seeds (#2 UCLA vs. #1 Florida and #2 Georgetown vs. #1 Ohio State). These are must see games…

The question this week is, “will UCLA have a repeat of last year’s finals or will they show up and put Florida to task?” Let’s hope UCLA remembers all too well what happened last year and brings it all to the court on March 31st.

Georgetown is back in the Final Four for the first time since 1985 and they look like they’re playing at their peak. Ohio State is going to have their hands full and better watch out. The Hoyas have a long history and tradition. Especially with the win over North Carolina, they’re not just going to let this go without a fight.

Hint: If you want the above widget with the default view on the Final Four. Grab the code as usual, but edit the code param_pDefaultRegionIndex=0 to param_pDefaultRegionIndex=4 (2 locations in the object/embed code, you can ignore the third location in the link code).
