Stay Up-To-Date With NBC Olympic Widgets

Here are some great widgets to keep you up-to-date on the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Below are a couple of examples with a few more available from the NBC Olympics website.

While it’s nice to have different widgets to accommodate different users and websites, we would have liked to see a single widget that could deliver the content of all 7 widgets combined. User interface is always a difficult thing to deal with due to the limited size of widgets. However, in this case the NBC Olympic widgets are a decent size and there are already several rows of controls. A left/right scrolling menu system could have easily added the functionality to provide more content.

New Enterprise Associates Leads the Round

NCAA Men’s Basketball Top 25 Widget

Some one asked us for a NCAA Men’s Basketball Top 25 Widget and in light of Maryland‘s upset over North Carolina, we went out and found one at the ESPN Widget Center. Now we can keep track of the top 25 teams and see how Maryland’s win knocked North Carolina all the way down to number 5 on the AP Poll.

Now what’s the chances Maryland can do it again and take down Duke on Sunday, January 27th?

By the looks of the “Add This” tool, we believe this is powered by Clearspring. Seems like Clearspring has popped up a lot when covering widgets. Not surprising considering that comScore puts Clearspring tied at number 2 with more than 39 million unique viewer in November 2007, as reported on TechCrunch.
