Stickam Maintenance

November 21st, 2006 No comments

Stickam is offline for maintenance again. It looks like they are re-releasing the features from a week ago that caused so many problems. Let’s hope that this time around it goes much smoother.

While their site is down, many of our services and widgets will not be functioning correctly. Please be patient and we will address any issues once Stickam is back online. There will probably be some tweaks needed on our end, but we won’t know for sure until we see the end results.

Update (2006.11.21 @ 9:00): Looks like Stickam is back. We have made the necessary adjustments. All services and widgets should be working correctly.

Stickam – Site Changes Again

November 13th, 2006 No comments

It looks like Stickam is updating their site again. These changes broke some of our widgets and services so please be patient while we fix the issues. We should be able to resolve the problems without any changes or updates to the widgets themselves. However, we will be waiting till later today to address these problems. Since these change were unannounced and we are not completely sure of all the changes, we want to make sure all of the dust settles before we go in and start cleaning up.

If there are specific issues or bugs you would like us to address, feel free to email us with your comments and requests. Check the About Us page for our contact info.

Update (2006.11.17 @ 6:00 AM): Stickam rolled back their site changes sometime yesterday. We can not tell if it’s a full or partial rollback of all changes but the site is back to what it was before. This means, for now, our widgets and services are also working again.

Update (2006.11.13 @ 4:45 PM): Looks like Stickam is still experiencing problems from their updates and maintenance. Unfortunately, we can’t really do much on our end until they resolve their issues. As soon as that happens, we will update our services and widgets.

Stickam Contacts and Firefox Sidebar

October 24th, 2006 No comments

This is a guide for using Stickam Contacts with the Firefox sidebar. For those of you who don’t know, you can set a bookmark link to open in a sidebar on Firefox. All you have to do is create a Bookmark and check the box “Load this bookmark in the sidebar”. To use Stickam Contacts just enter “http://stickiwidgets.com/widgets/stickam_contacts/” into the location box. Organize your bookmark as you would normally do. From now on, when you click on the Stickam Contacts bookmark you just created, the widget will open up in the browser sidebar. This is a great way to use the StickiWidgets Stickam Contacts widget. Continue along with your daily tasks and keep a tab on your Stickam friends.

Two additional buttons and functions were added.

Serendipitous Chat Dugg!

October 15th, 2006 No comments

Serendipitous Chat was dugg a little over 24 hours ago. We have been monitoring the site and the traffic for the last 24 hours and everything looks good. There were no issues or outages that we know of and performance of the site itself was good. Not all the numbers are in, but Google Analytics is telling us we had over 20,000 unique visitors and 40,000 page views in the first 24 hours. That’s not all of it though, since the Stickam player is loaded with the help of Ajax, it is hard to determine all of the traffic on the site. We will have to wait for more detailed reporting from our hosting provider and see how many times the responder was hit. It also appears that Stickam’s video chat system held up to the additional traffic without any problems. We never imagined that we would receive this kind of attention and make it to digg.com.

Additional features are still planned for Serendipitous Chat and other variations of the theme so check back for updates.

As always, feedback and comments are welcomed.
